Payment Processor Issues

After this mornings issues with our payment processor we are pleased to say that all the problems have now been resolved.
The issue occurred because our Payment Processor was updating the system which took longer than expected. The new system means that our payment pages
have also been reset to the default design but we will be updating these as soon as possible to make sure it remains consistent with our own site design.
Changes to Credit Card Transactions

Following changes to the regulations of internet purchases we have implemented 3D secure on
the site which is now a requirement for those who wish to purchase using Meastro and Mastercard. The system means that
only authorised parties can make online credit card purchases. If you have set up 3D secure on your card previously it
will simply be a matter of entering your password to confirm you are authorised to use the card, if not, you will
be asked to set up a 3D secure password at checkout which only takes a matter of seconds. For those who are using cards
which are not part of the scheme, you will still be able to make your purchases in the normal way.
SCSI Cable Finder Returns

We have finally redesigned the SCSI cable finder and it is now back in action. The old one didn't work
correctly in Internet Explorer so it had to be removed. The new one now functions correctly and can also be used as a resource
as well as a search. We hope you find this feature useful when trying to find the correct SCSI cable for your devices.
New Checkout System Implemented

In response to the problems some of our customers have been having paying with PayPal we have now implemented a new secure checkout system.
We will be closely monitoring the new system over the next week or so to make sure everything is running smoothly. If you would prefer to pay using your PayPal account
you still can, simply check the "Pay using your PayPal Account" radio button at checkout and you will be redirected to PayPal to make your payment.
Now Shipping to the EU

We are pleased to announce that we now ship to EU member states and have added extra features to the site to accomodate this. We have added
a currency selection tool so you can view prices in both GBP and Euro's (please note that all payments are still made to us in GBP). By selecting to view prices in
Euros the basket will automatically switch postage costs over to overseas postage, however this will only be charged if the delivery address is outside the
UK.
Server Downtime
01/03/2007
Some of you may have noticed the site go down for a few hours yesterday, this was scheduled downtime so we could move the site to a different server to install an SSL Certificate. We are sorry for any inconvienience caused.
The SSL certificate is part of our drive to create a more secure shopping environment for our customers and the first step in the development of a new checkout system which will hopefully be up very soon.
E-Mail Page Feature

In our efforts to continually improve the site each item page can now be sent to your friends and colleagues E-mail address if you think an item may interest them. We hope you enjoy this feature. We have also corrected an issues associated with the postage calculator in the basket, where orders over £100 were showing an incorrect postage cost. Remember ALL orders over £100 recieve FREE delivery, and it would have still shown up as FREE at checkout.

Postage Prices Added to Basket

Many of our customers have made it clear that they would like to see the postage cost of items before they go to the checkout. This feature has now been added and is calculated when items are added to your basket. We are continuing to adjust postage prices to reflect the recent changes in the postal service.
External Resources Feature Added

Today we have begun to include external resources on our item pages for those of you that own websites relevent to our customers. You can suggest your website from the item pages by clicking the "Suggest A Resource" link at the bottom of the page.
We believe that this could be an extremely useful feature for our customers and in the spirit of the internet thought that including websites from others would be a good idea, after all this was the initial intention of this thing we call 'the web'!
Safari Browser Issues

It has come to my attention today that there may be some issues using the site with the Safari Browser. Unfortunately we currently do not have a Mac to test the site on at the moment - Safari is not available on Windows based machines - so, should you experience difficulties using Safari we recommend you download an alternative browser. The site was tested in FireFox, Opera and IE so we suggest downloading one of these while we scramble around to find a suitable Mac so we can test the site in the Safari Browser. Sorry for the inconvenience.
