This unit allows a 3.5 inch SATA HDD to be used as additional storage on computers via an external L type SATA port. For easy connection of computers not fitted with an external L type SATA port these units are supplied with a special PCI bracket fitted with both external L type SATA and power connectors. The bracket comes with internal cabling to connect onto one of the mainboard SATA controllers and also to one of the computers internal power connectors. The external SATA and power cables used between the enclosure and the PCI bracket are also included. Power can also be supplied via a UK specification power supply which is not included, but can be purchased seperately (Item. 288)
